Biography:

Originally from New Jersey, Sam joined the Army in 2006 and at age seventeen he attended Basic Training during the summer between his junior and senior year in high school. He served full time in the Army from 2007 to 2011, graduating from Airborne and Ranger School and deploying to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Djibouti. He continues to serve in the Army Reserve.

His interest in global affairs and international relations prompted his military service, and in turn his military service spurred his interest in world political and military history in the modern period. Sam is dual enrolled in both the History Masters and the Masters of Public Administration. He works in the UConn office of Veterans Affairs and Military Programs as the Veterans Program Coordinator. Sam aspires to earn his Masters in History so that he can teach at a community college as an adjunct professor throughout his professional career.
