The Minor in History
The History Department offers on minor in History for interested students persuing other majors.
Course Credits and Minimum Grades
Students must complete at least five upper-level History courses (15 credits). No more than three of these credits may be transferred from another college or university. Substitutions are not allowed for courses in the history minor. Courses in which the student received a C or below do not count toward the minor.
Distribution requirement
The 15 credits must be distributed across at least three of the department's four distribution groups (A,B,C and D, below). Students who have taken History 2100 (formerly 211) may count that class in place of any one of the distribution groups.
History Minor Plan of Study
In the first four weeks of their final semester, students should fill out a History Minor Plan of Study and take it to the department's Undergraduate Director for approval. The student should then submit the completed form to the Degree Auditors in the Registrar's Office, Wilbur Cross Hall.
