Katharine is a doctoral student studying early modern Ireland. Her research focuses on women’s acquisition and transmission of knowledge across social and ethnic boundaries.  Additionally, she explores knowledge fields such as science, medicine, and numeracy in an attempt to prove that women participated in these fields through their social networks in lieu of more formal education opportunities.
